Dr Fay Patel is an academic, researcher and an independent international higher education consultant (Australia, North America, Asia Pacific, and Africa). Fay was the AVP -Teaching & Student Analytics at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada during COVID-19, and curriculum development consultant to First Nations University on a short term contract in the post-Covid -19 period. Fay was also an invited guest presenter at UNESCO Forums in Thailand and China; training facilitator and external reviewer in the World Bank quality assurance Bangladesh project.

Glocal Development contests hegemonic Development Communication models, combines Glocal Engagement Dimensions (intellect, morality, emotion, and action) with Principles of Glocal Engagement (adaptation of Klyukanov’s intercultural communication principles); and proposes respectful partnerships, negotiation of values, knowledges, perspectives, and worldviews among local and global communities.
